Banner region

Usage

Overview
BannerRegion from @prepared911/ui/blocks/banner-region is the display surface for active notification banners. The shell resolves which notices apply, stores per-person dismissals, and handles go-to navigation in onGoTo. The region orders notices, shows one at a time, and pages or rotates without fetching or validating CMS content.
Mount it in AppShell's banner slot (one element). AppShell's contract still describes a single Banner; update that wording when you integrate.
When to use
  • Multiple concurrent service notices with a single banner landmark in the shell.
  • Wallboard or read-only displays that rotate through notices on an interval.
  • Degraded (S4) dismissal per person with versioned reappearance.
When not to use
  • Static marketing or maintenance copy the shell controls directly: use Banner alone.
  • CMS validation of banner content: out of scope (Banner A1).
Modes
Interactive: a Pagination (Simple form) with Previous, Next and the count when more than one notice is active; S4 notices are dismissible.
Read-only: No pager or dismiss; advances through the same order every rotationIntervalMs. The prop is required in this mode.
Announcement timing
Every notice declares announce. Use BannerRegionAnnounce. Now for the normal S5 assertive or S4 polite announcement. When the notification router holds an S4 announcement during an interaction, pass BannerRegionAnnounce.Held; the banner still paints, but its live region is off. Replace it with Now when the router releases the announcement.
Audience targeting
Resolve product and environment targeting before rendering. BannerRegion treats audience as an opaque specificity descriptor: Targeted sorts ahead of Global at the same severity, but the block never inspects or resolves the target.
